Last week our directors Kevin and Kirsty were invited to the Citywire New Model Adviser awards in London where Watson Wood Financial Planning had been nominated for “Independent Financial Adviser of the year, Scotland and Northern Ireland”. The winner was decided by an independent panel of judges who use a scoring criteria after reading a firm's core values and processes.
We are delighted to confirm that we won our category on the night. This is down to the hard work of all of our team at Watson Wood Financial Planning. Thank you also to our clients and professional connections for your continued support. ... See MoreSee Less
Last week Watson Wood celebrated it's 7th anniversary. It has been a very successful year with the addition of 4 new team members and 2 office spaces in both Elgin and Inverness. What better way to celebrate than with a Harry Gow cake.
It’s been a busy start to 2024 here at Watson Wood, with the completion of our extended office space in our Inverness office. The additional space gives us extra meeting rooms and further open-plan offices, to meet the growing demands on the business, without having to leave Lyle House.
The work to extend the office was completed over the Christmas period, allowing us to move into the new area at the start of the year.
We look forward to welcoming our clients and professional connections in to see the fully refurbished office in the near future. ... See MoreSee Less
At Watson Wood we know our clients and connections like to hear news of our team members. As many of you will already know our Paraplanner Kirsty recently went on maternity leave expecting her first baby. We would like to congratulate Kirsty and her partner Matthew on the safe arrival of their baby boy Albie, born late October. Albie is enjoying long walks with his Mum and Dad, and has already had a visit to the Watson Wood office for some much anticipated cuddles. ... See MoreSee Less
At Watson Wood Financial Planning, all staff are able to take a paid ‘volunteering day’ each year, to support local causes. This year, eight of our staff volunteered to help with the MFR Mission Christmas appeal. Spread across two days, we helped to sort gifts for children who may not otherwise have received presents this year. We also donated a collection of toys and games which were donated by the staff in advance of our volunteering day. We were delighted to be able to support such a fantastic cause this year. If you want to find out more about how you can support Mission Christmas you can do so via the link below:
We are delighted to be in the Citywire’s Top 100 Financial Planning firms in the UK for a 2nd year running. The inclusion in the Top 100 list highlights the high standards set by all the staff at the firm – both in terms of the service we offer our clients and the technical qualifications held by our team. This was highlighted by Citywire, who said:
“As one of the few firms in the country to be both Chartered (with the Chartered Insurance Institute) and accredited (with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments), qualifications are important to Watson Wood….over the past 18 months the firm has continued to develop its personnel as two of its staff completed honours degrees in business management and one planner became Chartered”
With many of our clients having complex financial needs, it is important to us that our staff are as qualified as they can be, so that you have confidence you are dealing with a firm who have the technical skills to give you the best financial advice possible. It is great to be recognised once again as a leading Financial Planning firm in the UK. ... See MoreSee Less
